We bridge language barriers for you at home and abroad

States and their administrative apparatuses communicate in foreign languages in two major directions: internally and externally. At home, the concerns of the democratic state and its public bodies must be understood by all citizens. Only in this way can administration function efficiently, only in this way can citizens participate appropriately in democracy. In today's Germany, a considerable proportion of the population speaks a mother tongue other than German or communicates predominantly in another language. This is where the state, the federal states and the municipalities and their respective authorities need to make themselves understood.

Bridge between cultures in Germany

Our specialist translators for the public sector must meet two requirements in particular: They must be familiar with the subject matter, for example in general administration, education, finance or healthcare, and they must be able to put themselves in the position of the people they are addressing. Our specialist translators are therefore expected to be able to translate "official German" - where it still occurs - into everyday and easily understandable (foreign) language. This is the only way integration can succeed. Depending on the ministry, a translation into up to 27 different languages may be required.

Bridge to cultures in other countries

The state also wants and needs to reach people abroad on a linguistic level. Embassies, consulates and cultural institutions are the main actors in this external communication. Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) are also an area of application for our specialist translators abroad.

In all these tasks, it is not just the language and specialist knowledge of our specialist translators that is important. Rather, their knowledge of the respective culture of the target country can make a significant contribution to bridging existing gaps.

Certified translations are very often required in both domestic and consular administration. A large proportion of our specialist translators for the public sector have the relevant qualifications and accreditations, enabling us to provide an all-round service.
