Post-editing
Best possible quality of machine translations
Post-editing is the post-processing of a machine translation. The translation is compared with the source text in order to correct incorrect and incomplete passages.
Transcription is the verbatim written recording of spoken language. This can be, for example, the written version of a speech or an image video or the transcript of a TV or radio report.
If film or audio recordings are to be translated, transcription is a necessary intermediate step before the actual translation: the spoken text is first converted completely into written form. The translation is only produced on the basis of this template.
The transcription, i.e. the pure transcription of what is heard, is carried out by a native speaker. The translation is then carried out by another language expert who also works according to the native speaker principle. This means that he translates from the foreign language into his native language. This eliminates misunderstandings in listening comprehension and ensures authentic translation at the highest level.
If required, we can also have the translation checked by another specialist translator. This is recommended for particularly critical jobs, such as the translation of a commercial or image film.
It's not always about translating film or sound recordings. Sometimes a verbatim transcript, for example of a recorded speech or an interview, is required. For example, for the company's internal press review, for the written documentation of film and sound recordings or for the creation of subtitles. We therefore also offer transcription as an individual service.
