• Language is changing. This sounds banal, but your graphic designer needs to know where to divide text sensibly and where not, so that the text remains appealing.
• The writing direction changes: some fonts are left-handed or read vertically. A very special challenge for your layout!
• The font changes: Which word divisions are possible, which line and paragraph lengths are usual?
• Graphics and images may contain non-editable text. These elements must be processed separately for the translations.

Format preparation

Even before translation, we make sure that your files are formatted consistently. If necessary, we can design tables for you, create directories and capture text content to be translated from your graphics. Above all, however, we optimize typesetting and layout for you in the target language. We have experience with the various character sets and are also familiar with left-handed or vertical writing systems, so that we can adapt the foreign-language layout to your corporate design specifications.

Layout design according to your specifications

Feel free to contact us if you have any questions about editing unfamiliar file formats or layout design. Together we will find the best solution for your layout requirements. In any language! If necessary, we will modify the entire layout design in close consultation with your relevant department to meet the requirements of the translation. You will receive the foreign-language documents in a layout program (e.g. InDesign) or as a PDF document.

The better the template, the faster the result

We can do a lot, but not everything. We therefore inform our customers if a document may cause problems during translation. More suitable versions and formats of a problematic document are often available. This can significantly speed up the entire translation process and the subsequent foreign language typesetting. • Provide open file formats for the translation, which makes editing easier and saves time
• Use tables (do not create tables with the tab function)
• Format indentations (do not use spaces)
• Format headers and footers as such
• Select the appropriate styles for headings and text elements
