For freelance specialist translators
Toptranslation is a translation agency for medium-sized and large business clients. We offer translations into more than 50 languages and have a worldwide network of translators. Toptranslation is certified according to ISO 17100 and ISO 18587. We are always on the lookout for qualified specialist translators, post-editors, proofreaders and DTP experts.
Advantages for translators
Time for the essentials
Our project managers are responsible for creating projects in the CAT tool, formatting documents and communicating with customers. All questions from the translators of a project are collected and made available to all participating translators in a Q & A. This gives you more time for the actual core of your work: translating.
Individual translator profile
In your translator profile, you can specify your language combinations, your specialist areas, your services (e.g. translating, proofreading, interpreting, post-editing, etc.) as well as your word prices and minimum order values. This way, you will only receive requests that match your skills, knowledge and price expectations.
One control center for all orders
All orders are processed via the dashboard developed by Toptranslation. This means you always have an overview of completed and current orders and also have access to the style guide, reference documents and the current glossary of the respective customer at all times.
Accept and reject orders with one click
You will receive an e-mail from us for each order quotation. It specifies the language combination, subject area, number of words/lines, the fee offered and the turnaround time. You can accept or reject orders in the dashboard with one click.
Requirements for translators
We are certified according to ISO 17100 and ISO 18587. These two standards specify the minimum requirements for translators and post-editors:
- a recognized university degree in the field of translation
or - a recognized university degree in another field with at least two years of translation experience
or - at least five years of translation experience.
Our three-stage selection process
As there is no globally binding description of the qualifications of translators, Toptranslation has developed a three-stage examination procedure:
- Do the qualifications meet the requirements of the ISO 17100 and ISO 18587?
- Can these be verified and are there meaningful references?
- Were sample texts translated correctly?

All orders are coordinated via our dashboard. This means you always have an overview of all your projects and delivery deadlines.
CAT tools
We use memoQ for most of our translation projects. In the best case you have already worked with this tool, if not, our project managers will be happy to help you.
Diverse projects
We support numerous customers from 14 core industries in more than 20 countries and offer you a variety of assignments depending on your skills and knowledge.
Accessibility
During normal office hours, a contact person from project management is always available. You can submit questions and comments about a specific order in the dashboard and, of course, you can also contact us by phone or email.
